Raising More Than $12,000 for Children’s Literacy
Factory, LLC, a business incubator and unique event venue, hosted the Junior League of the Lehigh Valley and guests to raise money children’s literacy and ongoing Junior League of the Lehigh Valley community projects addressing issues like hunger and education within disadvantaged areas.
Party guests raised more than $12,000 through a silent auction that included items like original art, concert tickets, local spirits packages and more.
Guests had the opportunity to learn more about our community impact partner, Lehigh Valley Reads. In partnership with PBS, their mission is to increase reading comprehension in school-aged kids and close the reading level gap in school age children.
Guests also heard from the Junior League of the Lehigh Valley about ongoing projects to address local food insecurity and educational disparity with events like the annual Backpack Stuffing and the operational food pantry at Marvine Elementary that supports so many children and their families.
It was a great turnout, with over 100 community members coming together to celebrate. Thanks to the party guests and corporate sponsors Wind Creek Bethlehem, Factory LLC, Oak Tree Advisors, Peron Development, Ciocca Subaru and Embassy Bank, the event surpassed fundraising goals with a total profit of $12,000 and maximized the donation to Lehigh Valley Reads – a value of over $5000. Through a matching literacy grant from a children’s book publisher, over 900 books were purchased for donation directly to help kids build their home libraries.
